Where it all started

Sound Fishing Gear LLC was formed in 2011 to address the need for higher quality and utility in crab fishing gear. In 2019, Sound Fishing Gear began marketing products under the trade name Dekapod.

To our knowledge we were the first to introduce the nesting commercial style dungeness trap concept (a trap with an inverted conical shape and collapsible commercial style tunnel entrances). Its uniqueness was recognized by the USPTO and awarded patent #8402689 in 2013.

Our goal is simply to put the highest quality products in our customers hands.
